Chocolate Goodness

Cereal Killer Bistro provides a new take on the traditional cereal. This quaint restaurant, hidden away from the traffic is located on a side street close to 2nd Main Road, Anna Nagar East. It is a great hangout place for friends and family to dine at any time of the day. As the name suggests, many people assume that the restaurant is only open in the morning hours, however, their twist on the cereal makes it perfect to eat at any time of the day.

This is an ideal place for all those morning joggers out there who seek a hearty and wholesome breakfast after their exhausting workout. If you don't want to eat anything too sweet, you could try the pressed juices with ginger, beetroot, carrot and lemon.

As you enter the restaurant, it fashions a hipster vibe, with its monochromatic white and black interiors, tungsten lighting and brown picnic tables and chairs. The walls are covered with famous portraits that had cereal bowls edited on them, like the Mona Lisa and the Raja Ravi Verma paintings.

The owners, Zaheel Ibrahim and Ahamed Nabeel were inspired by London's Cereal killer Café and Kellogg's NYC in Times Square. They wanted people to change their perspective on cereal as a breakfast food to something that can be considered as an "anytime meal".

Cereal killer bistro offers a different take on regular cereal bowls by incorporating a sweet twist. Their combinations range from the strawberry cereal bowls to the chocolate cereal bowls all with toppings like chocolate chips, Bourbon biscuits, Oreos and with it a complimentary thick milk for each cereal. The cereal bowls are named after famous serial killers in movies.

They cater to the customers’ needs by mixing and matching different toppings and different cereals to invent new and transformed flavors that enhance the customer's experience. The restaurant has an ‘All Day Breakfast’ menu which consists of a choice of scrambled eggs, baked beans, chicken ham and black coffee. They have an assortment of sandwiches as well.

THE FOOD:

Chocolate Mare on Elm Street & Dementor's Antidote

The first bowl Chocolate Mare on Elm Street is a decent size serving of cereal topped with chocolate flakes, moons and stars, whipped cream and chocolate ice cream paired with a thick frothy chocolate milk. It is a great dessert for anyone with a sweet tooth. The crunchiness of the cereal and the soft biscuits were created to perfection.

The Dementor's antidote, the second bowl was topped with chocolate crunchy bites, chocolate fills, Oreos paired with thick chocolate milk. A definite must try for anyone who loves Oreos.

These bowls are worth the try for those desert-lovers. If you prefer something savory get the breakfast food like eggs and sandwiches.
